Dr. Woonwong will discuss on the prevention of ASF.

The strategies of African Swine Fever (ASF) prevention and control from several local regulatory authorities have been implemented mainly in three aspects: 1) Biosecurity 2) Monitoring and 3) Response plans. In a long-term solution, biosecurity is one of necessary conditions for re-stocking of pigs because this measure mainly contributes to risk factor control associated with the ASF introduction. Moreover, strictly monitoring, fully quarantined and rapid ASF detection are the efficient approach to minimize loss from ASF. Therefore, a rapid and accurate diagnosis would be a useful tool to help manage the ASF outbreak.
