Aflatoxins are a family of toxins produced by certain molds that are found on agricultural crops such as maize (corn), peanuts, cottonseed, and tree nuts. Aflatoxins can cause human cancers, if people accidently intake contaminated plant products or consume meat or dairy products from animals that ate contaminated feed. Aflatoxins have been classified as group 1 absolute carcinogens (IARC, 2012) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). Agitest Food Safety Rapid Test - Aflatoxin Total, is rapid test kit for the detection of aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2 in food and feed. The kit can detect trace amount of aflatoxins down to 5 ppb.
